MARCH 20 – MAY 8 2023: CASHMERE – PORTLAND

We love going away and we also love coming home. Lots of mail, lots of catching up and a couple of trips to Portland to see Cassie’s incredible mom Grace and a few of our friends.

We have a new manager for our orchard and I was grateful that Jack Crowe came over and spent two days helping to get our tractor, Kabota M8540, up running. We (Jack) changed the fuel, oil and transmission filters and the respective liquids. What a friend.

Met Kenny Brunner and Jack Crowe, friends since 2nd grade in Cashmere. We did a fine 18 holes of short course (putt putt golf, but without the windmills, clowns, etc.) I am proud to have both a low score and a hole in one.

The orchard is all in bloom just in time to celebrate Cassie’s 60th with a series of great meals and events – I even surprised her with some sparklies (diamonds are her birthstone she often reminds me) to celebrate her milestone.

We welcomed longtime Portland friend Tom Potiowsky for a fun visit and then got ready to head North - to Alaska!
